Additionally the "Oxford Union" did not overwhelmingly defeat it, the measure was defeated 2 to 1. this means that a full third of the Union was so filled with either self-loathing, or hatred of the institutions and beliefs that have been feeding and providing material comfort for the world since the end WWII.

Your article shows a fundemental misunderstanding of the nature of a debating society. A debating society puts something up for debate because it will be interesting. It does not mean that the Oxford Union actually agrees with it (in fact, you fail to mention that the House was overwhelmingly defeated). Looking at the calibre of the speakers scheduled (a Communist and two Islamists), you might even think that the Union wanted the motion to fail. Perhaps, indeed, the 'sodomite twits' in question proposed the motion to remind their fellow students that they owed so much to America.
