A sinking nikola tesla vitality will clutch in a straw

"Joe Turner" is one of those "works of art" that all the white lefties flock to while black people shrug in apathy. Sort of like Spike Lee movies and those shite paintings by that Basquiat Haitian guy. What's that say about the Obamas? In my opinion Obama, but maybe not Michelle, shares the tastes of white lefty yuppies that lived near him in Chicago. Seeing Joe Turner is just an affectation. Even his autobiographies were fictionalized and ghost written. That should tell you something about this Indonesian-Hawaiian's black authenticity. But I think this is all rather bad news. The black nationalist agenda is shared by about 1 percent of the population. The white leftist agenda has 25 percent backing, plus most the media's consent.

I think you may have missed another subliminal message.

"I promised a dog to my girls." (check)

"I promised a trip to Broadway to my wife. (check)

"I promised to close Guantanamo." (January) "I promised nationalized health care to all."(soon)

He wants to be seen as a man who keeps his promises.

CP

Sorry, the Italian joke was mine. Forgot to type in the "JS"

Jaytee:

I gather you finally read the play synopsis.

The good news? I've got some great Italian jokes. Wanna hear them?

My favorite involves an Italian and a chainsaw. The punchline? "Whatsa thatta noise?" I guess you can make up the middle part for yourself.

In case anyone forgets, we love Scottish jokes too. Absolutely everyone should go here:

Everything they do is planned, alright. The thing that...hold on. I have to do this first...

What does an Italian with one arm shorter than the other have?

> A speech impediment!

(I'm italian, so it's ok. Kind of like the "N" thing...)

Anyway, the thing that truly scares me - and I do mean scares - is that SO FEW CAN SEE THIS!

I know that eventually, enough will wake up. The question is, will it be too late? Will Erkal appoint another 2 or 3 to the SCOTUS? Will the 1st and 2nd amendments be ripped up by then? Will the internet be "protected" to the point that bloggers and commentors alike will be arrested, etc, for "inciting" whatever?

Even if he's voted out, he still has most of his term to do unheard of, unthinkable things. And he will...

JS,

I hear ya. But I think this is a case where the handlers decided the Obamas needed another celebrity outing to distract the nation from the rotten economy and the perilous state foreign affairs. Pure media manipulation/People Magazine tripe. I've no doubt the Obamas got all tingly watching that race-baiting play, but this is all Neo-Camelot crap meant to emulate JFK. In other words, this wasn't a spontaneous "date." I'm sure their doing their polling now to see where Bambi and Michelle should spend their summer vacation.

"...I think what you see on their faces is the resentment of a pair forced to serve as racial symbols..." Forced??

Lol. I know I'm supposed to joke and quip and "lighten up" and so on, but one of my personal demons is being unable to ignore the obvious. Almost everything out there is pretty easy to "figure out", IF you can take the pain that goes with it.

I'm beyond tired with the masses use of mental gymnastics as a way to see what's "really" going on, or to "rationalize" and "interpret" what is plain. Barry and Michelle are two vile, disgusting people. Everything that they do flows from that. There is nothing elegant about them, no matter how they dress, or what food they consume, etc. He's a believer in Black Separatism who thinks murdering babies who are born alive during botched abortions is A-Ok, and the masses faint as though he was all four Beatles in one?

Good read. Again.

jaytee  2009-06-01 02:17:00

Rest assured, CP, the choice of plays was decided by committee to maintain the couple's street cred. I think what you see on their faces is the resentment of a pair forced to serve as racial symbols. Obama probably wanted to see Spamelot and Michelle had to toss her Ice Capades tickets. It was like being forced to eat under-baked rhubarb pie in Des Moines on the campaign trail.

Peregrine John:

"I keep meaning to send my compliments by way of yourself to Mrs. CP for her insights and all-too-rare sanity/clarity. Through your mention of her, she reminds me of my own Mrs. PJ, if more widely read on the subjects discussed here. Kudos on your excellent taste."

Rather console her on her dubious taste. She has shown a disconcerting talent for reducing all my posts to one or two sentences that would make her the queen of twitter blogging but leave me mute and gasping.

Yet she says nice things about my posts. I'm sure you know the feeling. My good fortune (blogwise) is that Mrs. CP studied Russian and German, so I'm allowed to carry on a bit longer than some wives allow.

And we actually like each other's company. Even when she's dead wrong. And on the exceptionally rare occasions when I am.

Congratulations on Mrs. PG. Some of us are supremely lucky men.

Angela:

"It was nothing."

I'd be interested in your definition of "nothing."

And what exactly it takes for nothing to become something.

Would this count?

http://www.theonion.com/content/news/media_having_trouble_finding_right

Probably not. We're long used to the precedent of a president using his wife however he sees fit.

It just surprises me that you're so comfortable with it.

But, as I said, I'm having an awful Monday.

Peregrine John  2009-06-01 12:01:00

Rest assured that your final concern is at least partly unneeded: Many of us have exactly those concerns. That I should is probably no surprise. The entire thing sounds like a continuation of the denial-ridden nonsense that plagues our president... most notably in his supposed ability to endure decades of hatred and racism coming from a pulpit without ever noticing or being affected by it.

Speaking of shared concerns, I keep meaning to send my compliments by way of yourself to Mrs. CP for her insights and all-too-rare sanity/clarity. Through your mention of her, she reminds me of my own Mrs. PJ, if more widely read on the subjects discussed here. Kudos on your excellent taste.

Angela  2009-06-01 11:50:00

I do not understand why anyone cares. Really.

It was a date. It was in his "politically correct" date book. So what? It was nothing.

Let's all get a grip.
