What Lake said. (meaning I think he knows how to do this better than I do.)
But to confirm what you're inferring, yes. I want an email address (or Wikispace) that allows people to collaborate and exchange email addresses privately, so that they can participate without broadcasting personal contact information to the whole world.
[The Instapunk email address does NOT reach me directly, which is why I'm looking for something better.]
Lake 2010-06-09 07:26:00|
Google Wave could work, though I think Wikispaces (which we used for the TBB project) worked well for us.
Peregrine John 2010-06-09 06:56:00|
Not exactly, no. IP wants a way to collaborate on building a new site. I can do a variety of things to make that happen, and just need to know the desired process to set up the right thing.
For example, if what's wanted is an email address for people to anonymously send in things, I'll make one and give IP the login data. If it's to be where sending to 1 address sends to all collaborators, I'll make a mailing list. A back and forth discussion between the group suggests a forum. Google Wave might be the best option, since it's made for collaborating on projects.

"It's email, or it's a site. You're not looking for a group email, then, you're looking for... what?"
Pardon me if I am wrong...again. But it seems the Punks are looking for a "private spot" where they can talk about more "government transparency"... and "stuff".
Peregrine John 2010-06-09 04:29:00|
Email site? (Insert dalek "does not compute" sounds here.) It's email, or it's a site. You're not looking for a group email, then, you're looking for... what?
I have a better idea. I'll ask you in email (rather than on this site) and find out just what's wanted. Then we're off to the races. Or to save one, anyway.
IP 2010-06-09 03:13:00|
Confused. The idea of an email site is to provide cover for those who wish to be anonymous. Can't you just publish the email address and let people mail to it?
If you can't we'll just go with rootlake...
Lake 2010-06-09 02:52:00|
I'm a little late to the rally point, but rootlake at gmail should be on that list.
Peregrine John 2010-06-09 11:51:00|
Group email established. Just need to know what addresses to include.
IP 2010-06-08 02:15:00|
Everyone, hang tight. Peregrine John will soon have an email address where we can organize. Everyone who has volunteered WILL be called on. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. I grew up in a semi-practicing Jewish home and was bar mitzvahed. Since then I have been an atheist, a Buddhist (Zen and Tibetan), a Hindu practitioner, and a New Ager. Today, I think highly of the Judeo-Christian tradition. But no matter, when the annihilation begins, I will be on their hit list despite any labels I may live under. And then they will come for everyone else who doesn't toe the Islamo-nazi line. I have an MA in Comparative Religion. I am also a software tester. If I can help in any way, write.

I'm in, if needed. Network guy though, the actual network, not the web. Got plenty of opinions though.

IP: Can, and will. Been looking for an excuse to design something around a blog. I'll set up that email after today's barrage of meetings.

I can keep an eye out for relevant news if you like. Here's one to get you started. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100605/wl_mideast_afp/egyptisraelmarriagecitizenshiptrial_20100605151410

Wow! I think this is what I've been waiting for. Not sure what I have to offer at his point other than moral support. Mila 18 impacted me big time when I first read it 40+ years ago. As did other Uris books and later on Herman Wouk's novels. The insanity about the Jews/Israel never ceases to astonish me. I never believed we would come to this confrontation in my time between barbarity and civilization, but, nonetheless, here it is.

Allen and Glerg:
I'll call on both of you. I don't like blogspot and Wordpress seems complicated unless you an guide me through it? Don't know tumblr at all. Please advise. Allen, stay tuned. I'm in, too. Wherever it leads.
PJ: I Will take you up on the web design offer. We're going to do this. Can you set up an email address we can all conspire at?
Allen 2010-06-07 08:14:00|
I'm in. My field is weapons design and performance. Perhaps I could offer some technological perspective from a defense standpoint. That, and I can also contribute some money.
glerg 2010-06-07 05:59:00|
Blogspot, WordPress, and Tumblr all have free storage and bandwidth. godaddy.com has cheap domain names.
IP 2010-06-07 05:05:00|
Can you design us a website? And tell us where to put it (blogspot, wordpress, etc?)
Not kidding about this.
Peregrine John 2010-06-07 04:10:00|
I'm here. This (along with some research pointed my way) has roused me from my depressed stupor. I have neither money nor influence, but am a web designer willing to stand for truth and against hatred.

Where have you been? I was a saber fencer too. Only in high school. But I never lost.
Mike 2010-06-07 03:21:00|
Like some others on this web site, I'm a college fencer as well. Even worse, a saber fencer.
