Preview Icons of Clips on timeline (Vegas Studio)

Hey guys,

Can anyone tell me how to change the icons on the clips which are on the timeline?

Instead of beginning, middle, and end, I wanted to see frames throughout the entire clip.

Something along the lines of View

I realize I can control this somewhat with zoom, but is there another setting?

Brizoni, if you haven't yet read it, check out Budziszewki's "What We Can't Not Know." It's a brisk read, for the "philosophy/theology for laymen" genre, anyway. It's relevant to topics 1 and 2 alike.

I'd feel better about your grandiosity if you hadn't omitted what I said via emasil about same sex marriage. You mischaracterized it. I said. You said, when you told me you HAD to write about same sex marriage:

What look? I oppose gay marriage, but I know libertarians don't. And I know how earnest and passionate people are about it on both sides.

Candidly, though, the subject bores me to tears. Try as I might, I can't even see it as a moral issue. It's a tempest in a gaily decorated media teapot. An excuse for a certain subset of Christians to pound the pulpit and for Libertarians (with a capital "L") to preen and pose about their superior broad-mindedness over stuffy conservatives. That's the amusing part.

But there's also a sad part. The one thing I always thought homosexuals, particularly make homosexuals, had going for them was their buccaneer alternative universe. (What was the name of the legendary pirate capital -- Port Royal?) It seemed to me that they thrived on their secret society, however open or closed that secret was, and that even if it caused them greater pain it also compensated them with greater intensity, creativity, and dramatic opportunity. Clip the highs and lows of life and your personal story becomes in theatrical terms mere comedy. Push the limits and you have a chance at the breakthrough experience of tragedy. I thought this was a huge part of their culture -- well analogized by Ann Rice's vampire sagas. Except that vampires don't really exist, while Verlaine and Rimbaud did exist and are more immortal than Lestat could ever hope to be. I just can't imagine Oscar Wilde's catered wedding party, with or without Elton John and Liberace playing the music at the reception.

But something happened to gay men, just as it has happened to straight men. The femininization of the culture. Suddenly Lesbians swarmed out the network and somehow induced gay men into their narrower range of experience, which was just as clipped of highs and lows as the straight culture they despised. What had been gloriously tragic and poetic in gay culture became as resentful, envious, and mediocre as Lesbian culture. (Sorry, but I never got aroused by the whole girl-girl fantasy most men seem to respond to.) The reality of Lesbian life couldn't be more opposite that of gay life. For example, men have long identified homosexuals of their own sex based on the perception that they are so often better looking, better dressed, more culturally sophisticated, and maybe even more interersting than most of us are. Lesbians, on the other hand, tend to be about as uninteresting as people can be.(some notable exceptions notwithstanding). They dress and behave, for example, in ways that seem deliberately hostile to men, while gay men at least appear to find women as fascinating as exotic birds, cats, and reptiles at the zoo. (Some women interpret this as friendship; I'm not so sure about that, but the PR impacts are significant.)

Simply put, gays once created and inhabited their own world, whereas Lesbians just seem mad at the world. Which means what they really want is for the world to come to them, respect them, offer up all the fruits they feel they have been denied. Thus, women who live exclusively in jeans, clogs, and sweatshirts over bras like Jeep upholstery show up at wedding salons to be fitted in horrifyingly tasteless bridal gowns. Not because of any sense of beauty or belonging but because this bizarre straight ritual is owed them because it was so long denied them. Their solipsism is so complete they're not even aware that they are satirizing it by appropriating it for their own purposes.

If love and commitment and some measure of legitimacy were the issue, they could be content with civil unions, which even most opponents of gay marriage could tolerate. Even ceremonies involving dresses and altars could be carried out, if there were some personal perceived value in same. But that's not the point. The point is pissing on the straight world by being granted full admission to the hated club which has consistently blackballed them. They're bent on revenge, driving home their grudge, and making us like it. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

The current state of gay men is probably a more mixed bag. They have been feminized in that they seem anxious to join their sisters in the clipping of life's highs and lows down to Roman comedy dimensions. No more Oscar Wildes. Far more Queer Eye for the Straight Guy reality shows. No more Sistine Chapels. Far more rococo wedding ceremonies with state of the art makeup and choreography. And, unfortunately, a huge new number of what I think of as OGLs (Opposite-Gender-Lesbians), men who have entirely lost the romance of their ancestral culture and now aspire to nothing more than an enforced acceptance, even an extorted admiration, of their most animal urges.

It wasn't just sex that made male homosexuals the most culturally important secret society in the history of mankind. It was imagination inspired by the extremity of their contradictory inside-outside place in human society. Now, effectively, they have reduced themselves to a burlesque caricature of themselves defined by lewd parades, ostentatious apostrophes about a heritage they have forgotten except for its political propaganda value, and a gross insistence that everyone see in public what the overwhelming majority has always been too repelled to think about, let alone see on a city street or a movie screen.

As I said, there's a sad part. (Go Libertarians. Make us love it... You experts on the 'Live and let live' diktat you insist isn't just as dictatorial as the orthodoxies you're so superior to. Yup. I'm saying you're part of the sad part.

There's also, finally, a true part. There aren't enough gays to sink the culture with a flurry of parody ceremonies and receptions. At this level, my opposition is more esthetic than substantive. I don't want to see a pair of beardless stevedore brides in wedding dresses kissing in front of an altar and a man (or beardless stevedore) in a clerical collar. Or two faultlessly tuxedoed grooms, either. My bad, I guess.

But you are Brizoni. If you can make the subject interesting, important, or provocative of illuminating comments, more power to you.>>

Need to run [Berkshires for the holiday. I've gotta go anyway] but wanted to touch briefly on the Same Sex Marriage thing.

I'm writing up a proposal now for a Reality TV show called LGBT-NY Divorce Court. What I've got so far, cast-wise, is a Bisexual NYS Licensed Mediator for the Judge and a cast of weirdos, like a macho gold chains wearing Italian homophobe dude for the Bailiff, a Sassy Black Woman to tell everyone to 'sit they ass down!' and a classic Fag Hag Fatty in a Fright Wig playing the Doug Llewellen 'how do ya think it went in there?' role.

Its a jobs program, man!
