No, no, we're good with reading your take on it. We're not here just for your curmudgeonly whims, you know, but because you can write damned well. Feels nice in the grey matter. But I'll go have a look at the other blog, too. I have a thing for raptors. My name might be sort of a hint that way. (I don't drop hints, I chuck them at people's heads.) My house has been obsessed by an eagle cam for quite a while, now, but their story is more one of wonder than crisis: They've successfully brought up more than one clutch of 3 eaglets, which is nearly unheard-of. So yeah, the Franklin Institute story is familiar and fascinating. When His Grace comes by my office building, which he's done many many times now, returning to the apparently endless well of rich media types' pocketbooks, the LAPD shut down Wilshire Blvd. a fair while before the entourage comes near. When they do pass, it's at tremendous speed, the likes of which surface streets rarely see. They wouldn't see a fledgling at all. |

Now that the bobbles have graduated, the Franklin Institute cameras will shut down until next year. But it is still possible to keep up with the fledglings via Facebook. Plenty of pictures and updates on the Franklin Hawkaholics page. |
