Although if this was "pracice", it baffles me why they wouldn't just use a bomb casing filled with lead. But who knows, that was the 50's, and a lot of stuff didn't make sense back then. Reminds me of the Far Side cartoon where a guy is on stage, having unsuccessfully tried to juggle 12 nuclear warheads.
