Football Tough Guy Having had the opportunity to meet with an elder Chuck Bednarik, I can tell you, the guy is still a little scary at 79. He could care less about the Super Bowl and doesn't have anything nice to say about Jeffrey Lurie in a rare interview published as Legendary Bird Flies Coop. Although, he does think Donovan McNabb is the real deal. From his 30-mission tour as a B-24 waist gunner with the Army Air Corps that saw him win the Air Medal to two All-American years at the University of Pennsylvania to being the last of the "Iron-Men," playing 55+ minutes of every game (i.e. offense AND defense) - he was a real tough guy. Take the time to look into this guy's life. A little bit of perspective as you prepare for all the hoopla this Super Bowl week. Interestingly, his number reminds the thoughtful of the last year The Eagles won a national championship -- 1960, the only playoff loss ever suffered by the Packers' legendary coach, Vince Lombardi.
